「我在高二的時候，參觀了高雄歷史博物館的展覽，這才知道，二二八事件的時候，在高雄發生了大規模的屠殺，這才讓我真正踏進理解二二八的道路。」22歲的許靜玟發現，這個事情就發生在她熟悉的街頭，而她卻不知道，這個念頭讓她心生愧疚，才進一步研究跟了解高雄二二八事件。大學生陳彥蓉則是受香港反送中示威影響，才對二二八事件有感。她說，家人從不談政治，但升高中時香港爆發反送中運動，她那客家背景的母親因為關心這個議題，產生比較強的社會意識，甚至帶家人到電影院觀看電影《返校》。《返校》是以白色恐怖時期的告密者為核心的電玩遊戲，因為大受歡迎而被改編成電影，在當時成為熱門話題。陳彥蓉覺得電影有趣，讓她對過去歷史產生興趣。
